Beautiful! Gets my vote for best use of bodies and Bach…
Dear Michael Shannon,
We the choreographically challenged people have been talking to God. We have decided he made a mistake, in giving you too much awesome. We are going to have to require you to stop being so awesome. It is simply not fair to the rest of us.
Warm Regards,
Every other choreographer, dancer, artist, or any other person ever. =D
muito bom!
Answer for nicky3443: The music you enjoyed in Michael Shannon’s ballet, “What’s the Pointe,” is “Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello” by Johann Sebastian Bach. Shannon conceived and structured “What’s the Pointe” to Bach’s composition in eight movements. Only 3 of the ballet’s 8 movements (Prelude, Sarabande, Gigue) were posted on YouTube’s Configuration Dance Theatre Channel. bellissimo, bello spettacolo
What’s the Pointe is an incredible work of art. After these excerpts, I would like to see the complete ballet. The pas de deux at 2:49 is breathtaking. Do not miss it. The man in your life will love it too, mine did.
beautiful music and dancers, and brilliant choreography
I am astounded by Michael Shannon’s talent and range as an artist. I have seen audiences moved emotionally by theater and movies, but never by ballet until Michael Shannon. Do not miss the pas de deux on this video – the 2nd excerpt – Sarabande. You will see why both men and women love his work. I am not alone in considering him a choreographic genius. Please post more of his work.
Wow, simply exquisite.
