as a big fan of both mr show and python, i can say that yes they were heavily influenced. Some of the sketches and links were practically lifted from python, but overall mr show took sketch comedy to a new level.
I found some more- it’s fantastic! How is it that this has been around for so many years and the first I heard of ‘Mr Show’ was a week ago? I caught ‘Kids In The Hall’ as it was on late on the BBC, but why don’t people talk about this? It is brilliant! It’s so great when you find a comedy goldmine.
As a Brit, I was unaware of this, but I must say it is amazing. It’s one of the VERY few sketches that, while in the Monty Python tradition, takes it a step further, very rare. I’m off to snuffle out some more.

mr. show is some of the greatest sketch comedy of all time! mad props to monty – these guys know their shit
Spend some time searching for Mr. Show–it’s worth your time.
Individual segments are funny but you need entire episodes for the full effect.

Yeah. And dexter was an exception, I think the second season was better. Only animated series can stay in as good quality.
I think the simpsons got better, oh and of course battlestar galactica!
